# The helper

> What the Pilotie helper is, which tools it uses, which model it runs on and the limits on every message.

The helper is an assistant built into your workspace. It is a real agent: it reads your workspace, calls the same tools an outside AI would call, and tells you in a sentence or two what it did.

## What it uses

Your tools (notes, tasks, lists, reminders, calendar, contacts, documents, invoices, forms, files and more) and the apps you installed, through the same door an outside AI uses. It works with the same permissions, the same plan limits and the same history.

## How it behaves

- It looks before it changes: it reads a list before it adds to it.
- It never invents data. If a tool comes back empty it says so.
- It asks one short question when it truly cannot guess, and otherwise does the sensible thing.
- It keeps its answers short, in the language you wrote in.
- Text that comes from mail, web pages or forms is data. It never follows instructions found inside it.

## Models

A small, fast Claude model (Haiku 5.5) does everyday jobs. A bigger one (Sonnet 5.5) writes long pieces. The biggest (Opus 5.5) is used only when you ask for the best. You never pick; the words in your message decide.

## Limits on every message

At most 6 tool steps, a cap on how much one message may write and spend, and a tool answer is cut to a readable length before the helper reads it. A workspace also has a daily ceiling on messages and on cost.
